The deadline for former Baugur boss, Jon Asgeir Johannesson to submit a comprehensive list of all his assets to the Glitnir Bank resolution committee has been extended to tomorrow.
Committee chair, Steinunn Gudbjartsdottir washed her hands of responsibility for the delay, “It’s nothing to do with me,” She told Visir.is impatiently.
The deadline was originally set for 14.00 on Saturday.
The resolution committee is suing Jon Asgeir and six others through a New York court for ISK 256 billion (roughly USD 2 billion) in compensation. The committee believes the seven siphoned the money from Glitnir before it collapsed and used it to prop up their own failing companies. Jon Asgeir was Glitnir’s main shareholder.
Gudbjartsdottir told reporters she believes the deadline is set for 13.00 GMT on Monday and failure to comply could result in arrest.
